Frequently Asked Questions…

What types of needlepoint finishing do you offer?

The Salty Stitchery Studio offers a variety of finishing services, including ornaments, stand-ups, pillows, and select custom finishing projects. If you have a unique idea in mind, we’d love to discuss it.

How do I begin the finishing process?

Simply submit the finishing inquiry form with details about your project, including photos if available. Once reviewed, you’ll receive information regarding timeline, pricing, shipping instructions, and next steps.

Do you require extra rows around my stitched piece?

Extra rows depend on the individual project and finishing style. If there are important design elements close to the edge that you do not want to lose, adding 1–2 extra rows is recommended. Irregularly shaped canvases may also benefit from additional rows to allow for proper finishing.

Can I request specific fabrics or finishing styles?

Absolutely. If you are not providing finishing fabric but have a specific style or color in mind, please include those details in your inquiry form comments. If you are looking for a finishing style not currently listed, feel free to email us or message us on Instagram so we can chat about custom options for your project.

What materials are used during the finishing process?

Projects are thoughtfully finished using acid-free mat board and stitching techniques designed to preserve the integrity and longevity of your needlepoint. Glue is used only when constructing gusset-style pieces and is limited to securing interior foam components as needed.

Do you require a deposit?

A deposit is required to reserve your place in the finishing queue. Remaining balances and shipping invoices are due upon project completion, prior to return shipment.

What is the current turnaround time?

Turnaround times vary depending on project type, seasonal demand, and material availability. Projects are completed in the order they are received, with an estimated turnaround time typically ranging from 2 to 3 months.

Do you accept mailed finishing projects?

Yes. The Salty Stitchery Studio accepts both mailed finishing projects and local drop-off arrangements. For mailed projects, please place your stitched pieces and materials inside a waterproof bag (such as a zipper storage bag) before shipping for added protection.

Do you offer beginner needlepoint classes?

Yes! The Salty Stitchery offers beginner-friendly classes designed to help new stitchers build confidence and enjoy the creative process.

Do I need prior needlepoint experience to attend a class?

Not at all. Beginners are always welcome, and classes are designed to be approachable and encouraging for all skill levels.

Can I provide my own materials or finishing fabrics?

Yes. We’re happy to discuss incorporating additional special fabrics, trims, or other materials into your finishing project whenever possible.

Will I receive pricing before the finishing begins?

Absolutely. Pricing estimates and finishing details are discussed and approved before any finishing work begins.

How can I stay updated on classes, events, and stitch nights?
